A People Experience team

People and Experience

MTECH have established  teaming agreements with Meinhardt (Thailand) and The BIM Academy (UK) for the delivery of AEC BIM and Project Management services in Thailand and Myanmar and are ideally positioned to provide BIM Architectural, Engineering and Construction services with established BIM delivery hubs in Bangkok, Hong Kong, London and Sydney, providing both local and international support and coordination duties.

This team has a blend of experience in BIM that has been evolved through working on AEC BIM and Project Management services on over 50 BIM projects to a value in excess of $5 billion usd. Team members are highly experienced in the use and application of BIM. The use of Building Information Models is well embedded in our organizations working practices. This is the case for processes such as 3D Coordination, Model Management, 4D time lining, 5D quantification and using data contained within models for the management of the Asset information Model (AIM).

Our superior training capability performed by certified Autodesk instructors provides not just training in the software, but more importantly the knowledge transfer that has been gained from years of project experience. BIM Training

Getting everyone in your office up to speed with the latest BIM software and processes is essential.  We can create a custom training schedule for your employees based on your projects and deliverables.  We have worked with architects, engineers, contractors, and owners to educate their staff not only in BIM software but also the new integrated process that is vital to the success of the BIM.

We offer a series of practical workshops designed to provide project teams with the knowledge to transform their working methods and undertake a full BIM project. BIM Implementation

Our BIM Implementation service is engineered to assist the client to design, develop, manage and implement BIM standards and practices to ensure that upon completion of which, the client will have the knowledge and capabilities to deliver all of their future projects using BIM technologies & processes.

BIM Project Support / Pilot Project

MTECH provide both on-site and off-site project consulting services to assist our clients through the early stages of BIM development through to project delivery. A key phase in testing the capabilities of your BIM team is to conduct a pilot project. The scope of services we can offer to ensure success in this phase are as follows:

Project Services

Developers are increasingly requesting BIM delivery for their projects in order to reduce costs and improve designs. Due to BIM being a relatively new concept, some organizations find they do not have the capabilities or resources available to deliver data rich building information models to the clients specications. This is where MTECH can help. Model Building

Our model building services can be engaged for both design and construction phases of a project or we can make a straight conversion from your as-built 2D drawings or point cloud survey to a data rich deliverable as per your requirements. Our commitment to deliver the highest level of service is evident in our flexibility to adapt to your projects needs and our model building services can be delivered either from our own premises or we can send one of our teams to work from your site.

Using Autodesk Revit, MTECH's Revit modellers are experienced professionals in the production of fully coordinated BIM models to your specifications across all disciplines (Architecture, Structure, MEP, Civil) and possess the capabilities and experience to build data rich Building Information Models in compliance with various standards and Levels of Development/detail (LOD) specifications including:

Model Management / Coordination

Clash detection is the exercise of checking coordination quality and clearances of and between MEP services, structure and architecture using BIM software compatible with model building platforms such as Autodesk Revit. MTECH's services include performing the clash detection on our clients models and reporting any design or coordination defects.

This exercise potentially saves the client substantial time and money due to early identification of problematic areas early on in the project minimising the threat of costly reworking on site.

4D Construction Sequencing Simulations

Data from construction schedules can be combined with the power of BIM to create an animated "4D" simulation of how an asset is planned to be built in terms of the order each activity is to be carried out. This can highlight problems with the planned schedule in terms of site efficiency, safety and accessibility allowing construction managers to make changes in advance. MTECH have experience of producing such animations on a variety of projects based on both our clients building information models or models created by ourselves on behalf of our client’s.

5D Cost / QTO / BOQ

BIM models can be used to generate accurate quantity takeoffs and assist in the creation of cost estimates throughout the lifecycle of a project. This enables the project team to see the cost effects of their design decisions and proposed changes during all phases of the project, and this feedback supports better design decision-making and can help curb excessive budget overruns due to project modifications.

BIM FM

Government mandates such as those in the UK and Singapore are creating the benchmark approach to data integration on projects. BIM FM ushers in a new era of Facility Management where data and information rich models manage data that is integrated once, during design and construction and subsequently used throughout the lifecycle of the building. BIM FM produces cost reduction in the lifecycle management of facility and its consumption of energy.  

What is BIM FM?

BIM FM or 6D BIM (6D Building Information Modeling) is a term widely in the construction industry which refers to the intelligent linking of a 3D BIM model and its components to all aspects of project life-cycle, asset, and facilities management information.

Where a model is created by the designer and updated throughout the construction phase, it will have the capacity to become a 6D"As-Built" BIM model that can be delivered to the owner when a construction project is completed. The model will be able to contain all of the specifications, operation and maintenance (O&M) manuals, and warranty information, which is useful for future maintenance. This eliminates the problems that can currently be experienced if the O&M manual has been misplaced or is kept at a remote location. Sensors can feed back and record data relevant to the operation phase of a building, enabling BIM to be used to model and evaluate energy efficiency, monitor a building's life cycle costs and optimize its cost efficiency. It also enables the owner to evaluate the cost-effectiveness of any proposed upgrades.

Using BIM FM facilities managers can effectively explore, track, and manage information using the powerful parametric capabilities and data embedded in the BIM model to analyze space related data, track inventory and lifecycle data and perform cost needs analysis.

Ecodomus brings the value of BIM to building owners for improved design and construction data collection and handover, facility management, operation and maintenance. Ecodomus software provides a 3D view of facilities in an easy to use format for facility managers that links BIM with real-time  operations data acquired via meters & sensors (Building Automation Systems, BAS) and facility management (FM) software. This allows for the intelligent analysis of a building’s performance, and enforces better maintenance practices resulting in a significant reduction in labor hours and more effiicient energy savings.
